ARTIST & POET

Terrance McLarnan

Terrance McLarnan is an artist, poet and psychoanalyst. His images are informed by the works of the medium’s earliest photographers and are influenced by the concept of waking dreams. He studied photography at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and has produced black and white images for over 40 years. His work is in the permanent collection of the Plains Art Museum as well as in private collections. Terrance’s poetry has been published in Psychoanalytic Perspectives and this journals’ anthology: Writing on the Moon: Stories and Poetry from the Creative Unconscious by Psychoanalysts and Others(2017). His academic writing – Images Seen and Forgotten: The Optical Unconscious and Visual Time Capsules has been internationally recognized.
